INSTRUCTIONS TO THE SCHOOLMASTER ON BOARD THE SHIP STATELY

To read prayers morning and evening in the event of the Surgeon or Captain not performing.

The Schoolmaster to inspect the girls in the cabin when the Matron informs him they are ready to receive him.

III
To arrange the girls into classes - the first half hour in religious instruction - theremaining of the morning in reading, writing and arithmetic according to the personal requirements.

IV
To point out to the matron any duties requiring her attention and to assist her at all times in enforcing the rules and regulations of the Society.

V
To report to the matron any instance of forwardness of manners or improper expression of behaviour of any of the girls, particularly during the time of by him and to exert his own authority to check and correct any misbehaviour or insubordination.

VI
At all times to prevent the girls from any communication with the sailors.
